​​Born 1991 in Munich, Germany.

From 2012 to 2020 Annelie studied documentary directing and TV-journalism at University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). ​

 

Her films have been screened at numerous major international festivals such as Visions du Réel, DOK Leipzig, CPH:DOX, Dokfest Kassel, FIFDH and Montreal World Film Festival. She received many awards for her works, e.g. the STARTER FILMPREIS, the FFF-Förderpreis or the ESSA Audience Award. 2018 her film F32.2 was nominated for the Student Academy Awards®.

 

Her debut documentary THE TENDER REVOLUTION was shown at major international film festivals and was released in german theatres 2025. Her second feature WHO TRULY KNOWS WHAT A LIFE IS? about the painter Paula Modersohn-Becker, in cooperation with NDR/arte, FFF, BKM, FFA, Nordmedia and DFFF, will be released in theaters in autumn 2026.

As a producer, Annelie poured all her heart and passion into successful films such as MACHINES OF LOVING GRACE (First Steps Award for Nancy Mensah-Offei) and SORRY COMRADE, which was celebrated in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section at the 2022 Berlinale.​

Annelie works as a director, producer, cinematographer and editor in Munich and Berlin.
